Doane Tops Dordt in Overtime

Doane battled back and forth with Dordt College on Thursday and ended up playing their third overtime game in their last four outings.  Just a little over a minute into overtime, Dordt was called for a foul just outside of the Defender penalty box.  Jordan Hedgecock lined up a kick that was sent in, went off of the cross bar and goalie's hands, dropped down in front of the net and Samantha Exstrom was waiting to head the ball in for the game-winning goal.

Exstrom's goal was the 20th goal on the season and fifth game-winning goal.  The Tigers' first goal of the game came off the foot of Kelly Spencer, who knocked in a shot off a corner kick by Exstrom.

Dordt's lone goal came from Lex Elgersma as she ran into a clear out kick by the Tigers and it deflected into the Tiger net before Alicia Exstrom was able to react.  A. Exstrom picked up eight saves for the Tigers while her counterpart Rosalyn DePooter picked up three saves.

Dordt out-shot the Tigers 19-11 for the game.
