Doane Takes Ninth at Mid-States

The Doane men's cross country team came away with a ninth place finish on Saturday at the NAIA Mid-States Classic held at Southwestern College in Winfield, Kan. A total of 20 teams participated in the meet with NAIA third-ranked Wayland Baptist winning the meet. Doane finished with 266 points, edging out NCAA DII Newman University who posted 267 points.

Edwin Ronoh paced the Tigers with a 12th place finish and a time of 26:13.92. Jarid Holliday ran a time of 27:19.54 and placed 41st on the day. Steve Jerina placed 98th with a time of 29:01.69. Jamil Chehade posted a time of 29:13.40 and placed 103rd overall. Jordan Pieper rounded out the point scorers with a 107th place finish as he ran a time of 29:31.32.

Matt Rosser ran a time of 29:50.30 and placed 118th while Jory Pflasterer placed 127th with a time of 30:03.60. Zach Christensen placed 131st with a time of 30:11.22. Omar Fernandez ran a time of 30:30.80 to place 136th. Zach Sims ran a time of 30:58.69 to finish 146th and Andrew Ohlson rounded out the Tiger runners with a time of 33:33.24 as he placed 178th.

Doane will take a week off and then head to the GPAC Championships.
