Doane Shuts Out Mount Marty

The Tiger men's soccer team picked up a shutout victory over Mount Marty College on Saturday afternoon in Yankton, topping the Lancer, 4-0.  The win was the Tigers' seventh win in conference play.

Doane's first goal of the game came in the 17th minute as Devon Strecker scored off a pass from Jordan Schafer.  Doane took the 1-0 lead into halftime.

In the second half, the Tigers got a little help from the Lancers as they put a goal on the board for Doane with an "own goal".  In the 63rd minute, Stefan Travis scored an unassisted goal.  Dwight Joseph finished off the scoring with a goal in the 77th minute of play.

Doane out-shot Mount Marty, 14-1, in shots on goal.  Tiger goalkeeper Chris Kavinsky finished with one save while Lancer keeper Derek Otten posted 10 saves.

The Tigers will be off until the regular season finale on October 31.
