Doane Roughs up the Coo

The Tiger volleyball team extended their winning streak to 10 matches on Saturday evening with a 3-0 victory over the University of Sioux Falls.  The Tigers dominated games one and three.  Game scores were 25-10, 25-17 and 25-10.  Doane improved to 21-4 overall and 8-1 in the GPAC.

Doane was paced by Susan Rollman's 14 kills in 20 attacks.  She had 13 kills through the first two games before limited time on the court in game three due to a run of points by the Tigers.  Ivie Speer added 12 kills and Jessy Livers finished with 11 for the Tigers.

As a team, Doane hit .495 for the game while Sioux Falls was held to a .093 attack percentage.  Part of the reason for the low attack percentage for the Cougars was the Doane block.  The Tigers forced several tips after several attacks were sent back to the Cougar side.  Doane finished with 7.5 team blocks.

The blocking game was led by Rollman's five total blocks.  Speer added three while Terra Andreasen and Lisa Lord each had two.

Heather Davison posted 28 set assists while Cassie Reicks contributed 15 for the Tigers.  Emily Schwisow led the back row with 13 digs while Livers added 12.  Livers also led the team with three ace serves.

Doane will be off until next weekend when they face No. 24 Dordt College on October 16 and No. 5 Northwestern College on October 17.
