Doane Rings in New Year with Win

With the Holdrege girl's basketball team and several Duster fans in attendance, native Lindsay Anderson gave a strong showing as she finished with a game-high 17 points in Doane's 73-46 victory over York College.  Anderson also added a game-high five steals.

The Tigers and Panthers went back-and-forth early on but in the final five minutes of the first half, Doane was able to increase their lead from two points to 12 by halftime.  The Tiger defense stepped up another notch in the second half as they limited York to 19 points on 7-of-25 shooting from the floor.  For the game, Doane forced 29 Panther turnovers and converted them into 36 points.

Three Tiger teammates joined Anderson in double-figures in scoring.  Hannah Helman chipped in 13 points, Alissa Holland added 11 while Vanessa Munter posted 10.  Holland had a game-high eight rebounds.  Brittany Lurz had a game-high four assists for Doane.

For the game, the Tigers out-rebounded York 42-32.  Doane posted 18 offensive rebounds.
