Doane Returns to Winning Ways

Doane honored their three seniors prior to the game and they put up solid efforts in a 73-59 victory over the University of Sioux Falls.  Desirae Albus, Alissa Holland and Rudi Molet will graduate in May.  Molet has been out since the third game of the year with an injury but Albus and Holland combined for 15 points and 18 rebounds.  Albus posted a career-high 10 rebounds in the game.

The Tigers and Cougars battled back and forth through the first seven minutes of play and USF took one of their two early leads with 12:46 remaining, going ahead 14-12.  Vanessa Munter put in back-to-back baskets to regain the lead for Doane.  Sioux Falls tied the game at 24-24 with six minutes remaining but Doane 13-5 run to take a 37-29 lead into halftime.

The Cougars used a 9-2 run midway into the second half to pull within three points at 52-49 but it would be as close as USF would get.  The Tigers went on a 16-0 run to pull away.

Vanessa Munter led the Tigers with 17 points off the bench.  Lindsay Anderson added 16 points and four assists while Alissa Holland posted 10 points and eight rebounds. 

Sioux Falls was led by Morgan Campbell's 21 points and eight rebounds.
