Doane College once again ranked in the first tier of the nation’s best liberal arts colleges and placed among the top two Nebraska colleges in the 2014 edition of “Best Colleges” rankings by U.S.News & World Report.
Doane ranked 156 out of 248 liberal arts colleges nationally, up from 167th in 2012, even with significant changes to the rankings methodology that place more weight on student outcomes.
Their goal was to “reduce the weight of input factors that reflect a school's student body and increase the weight of output measures that signal how well a school educates its students.”
U.S.News also named Doane College to their list “A-Plus Schools for B Students.” The organization sought to identify schools where students could thrive with spirit and hard work.
The full rankings, which include more than 1,400 schools nationwide, are available at www.usnews.com/colleges.
Two other organizations have recognized Doane College this year. Forbes.com named Doane one of “America’s Top Colleges” and The Princeton Review named Doane among the “Best in the Midwest.”
