Doane recognized as a 2014-15 College of Distinction

Doane College was named a College of Distinction for 2014-15, making it one of less than 300 colleges and universities nationwide recognized for excellence in undergraduate education.

It is the sixth time Doane has been named to the Colleges of Distinction list, which gives a detailed look at different attributes of the college on its overview page for Doane.

Colleges of Distinction, an online college guide for high school students, chose 295 schools in its 2014-15 installment. Only four Nebraska colleges made the list – which isn’t ordered – and all were private colleges: Creighton University, Doane, Hastings College and Nebraska Wesleyan University.

On its website, the organization lists four criteria for its Colleges of Distinction:

  • Engaged students;
  • Great teaching;
  • Vibrant community;
  • Successful outcomes.
