Doane Loses in Overtime

Doane held two leads in their match-up against Nebraska Wesleyan, but the Prairie Wolves were able to rally each time and eventually defeated the Tigers 3-2 in overtime in a men's soccer make-up game.  The game was rescheduled after a postponement due to lightning on September 23.

Monday Akogwu scored his 13th goal of the season when he gave Doane a 1-0 lead just 15 minutes into the game.  Wesleyan tied the game at 1-1 before halftime.  In the second half, Jeff Wick scored just seven minutes into the half to give Doane a 2-1 lead.  However, NWU rallied to tie the game again.  In overtime, the Prairie Wolves scored with about three minutes remaining to win the game.

Doane fell to 5-4 on the season.  Chris Kavinsky recorded four saves for Doane.
