Doane Hits 15 NAIA Marks at Concordia

The Tiger track & field team posted seven NAIA automatic marks & eight provisional marks at the Concordia Invitational on Saturday afternoon. Doane also had 15 event winners on the day.

In the women's track events, Deejay Silcott won the 100m and 200m dashes. In the 100m, Silcott posted a provisional mark of 12.29 and in the 200m she ran a time of 25.71. The Tigers took the top two spots in the 200m with Blair Dixon posting a time of 25.80.

Dixon won the 400m dash with a time of 58.61. Doane went 1-2 in the 400m dash as well with Amanda Woodward taking second with a time of 1:00.43. In the 5000m, Viviana Arreola won with a time of 18:42.43.

In the relays, Doane won the 4x100m and 4x400m relays. In the 4x100, the team consisted of Natalie Kramer, Blair Dixon, Cami Hasenohr and Deejay Silcott. They ran a time of 48.81, an automatic qualifying mark. The 4x400 team consisted of Amanda Woodward, Jillian Ourada, Alyssa Straube and Dixon. The team posted a time of 4:07.01.

In field events, Katie Bartels won the high jump with a mark of 1.65m (5-05.00). Her mark meets the provisional qualifying standard.

Janelle Weber hit an automatic mark in the triple jump with a leap of 11.51m (37-09.25).

Three marks were hit in the shot put. Whitney Collins posted an automatic mark of 13.58m (44-06.75) as she placed third. Kelsee Meisner and Sarah Hinman met the provisional standard with marks of 12.64m (41-05.75) and 12.57m (41-03.00), respectively.

Hinman hit an automatic mark in the discus throw. She placed second with a mark of 42.32m (138-10). Collins hit a provisional mark in the hammer throw with a toss of 46.92m (151-10).

The Tigers claimed the top three spots in the javelin. Ashton Henderson won the event with a throw of 36.15m (118-07). Abby McCloskey finished second and Leah Petersen was third.

On the men's side, Vince Martinez won the 400m dash with a time of 49.26. Jens Scholl won the 800m run with a time of 1:55.41.

The Doane 4x400m relay team won with a time of 3:19.18, a provisional mark. The members of the team were Laith Etmund, Alex Reynolds, Martinez and Scholl.

Nathan Teten tied for first place in the pole vault with a mark of 4.40m (14-05.25).

Brett Jorgensen hit an automatic qualifying mark in the long jump as he placed second, posting a jump of 7.22m (23-08.25). Brian Hubbert won the triple jump with a provisional mark of 14.14m (46-04.75).

Jared Schuurmans posted two automatic marks, winning the discus with a throw of 55.47m (182-00). He placed second in the shot put with a throw of 16.54m (54-03.25). Also in the discus, Jake Eckhardt hit a provisional mark with a throw of 47.30m (155-02).
