Doane Extends Streak, Unbeaten in GPAC

The Doane men's soccer team continued to find a way to win in recent weeks as they came away with a 3-1 win over Mt. Marty College on Saturday evening in Crete. Doane improved to 3-0 in conference play.

The first goal of the game came two minutes in as Juan Padilla headed in a pass from Sean Dougherty off a direct kick. The Tigers continued to attack but was unable to find the goal again until the 35th minute of play. Devon Stecker scored on a penalty kick.

Mount Marty cut the Doane lead in half in the 71st minute of play when Juan De La Cruz scored on a direct kick from Chandler Olmo.

Doane came back in the 85th minute as Tom Heavey scored to cap off the Tiger victory. Jake Miller had the assist on Heavey's goal.

Matt Bickley finished with nine saves for the Tigers in the victory. Doane out-shot Mt. Marty, 24-15.
