Doane Defeats Dana College

The Tigers picked up an important victory on the road over Dana College on Wednesday night, 83-75.  A day after the game was postponed, Doane used 55.8 percent shooting from the floor to pull out the eight point victory.  The Tigers' victory, combined with a loss by Briar Cliff, assures Doane of a first round GPAC tournament home game.

The Tigers held a 45-31 lead at halftime and held off a 7-0 run by the Vikings to open up the second half.  Doane converted 8-of-10 free throws in the final three minutes of play.

Dane Cruz paced the Tigers with 21 points.  He also collected five rebounds, tying for team-high honors.  Brent Cole added 17 points and five rebounds.  Todd Kraus chipped in 15 points.  Jack Lind and Kolby Hamilton added five rebounds each as Doane out-rebounded the Vikings 33-30.

Dana was led by Eric Maassen's 17 points.  Jared Kitzelman added 14 points and a game-high eight rebounds.

Doane will host Mount Marty in the regular season finale on Saturday.  Tip-off is set for 4:00 p.m.
