Doane Defeats #21 Wesleyan in Three Games

The Doane volleyball team found themselves back in the win column on Wednesday evening with a 3-0 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University in Crete. The Prairie Wolves are ranked #21 in NCAA Division III while the Tigers are ranked #16 in the NAIA.

The Tigers were led by the middle blockers on the evening as Emily Max and Susan Rollman controlled play at the net. Max led Doane with 17 kills and a .571 attack percentage. Rollman added 10 kills and led the team with five total blocks.

Ashley Axmann added eight kills as Terra Andreasen finished with five and Lisa Lord posted four kills in seven attacks.

Heather Davison led the Tigers with 37 set assists. The senior added two kills, one ace serve and nine digs.

Desiree Erikson posted a team-high two ace serves as the Tigers posted six in the match. Ali Janky, Nicole Skolnick and Andreasen each had one ace as well.

Skolnick led the team with 11 digs and was 19-for-19 in serve receptions. Nikki Degenhardt added nine digs.

At the net, Lord added three blocks to go with Rollman's team-high of five. Andreasen and Max added two total blocks apiece.

Doane will enjoy a week off before heading to Seward to take on Concordia University on September 28.
