The Doane Choir will perform in Nebraska, South Dakota and Minnesota during a five-day tour Feb. 14-18 and will conclude with a home concert Feb. 19.
An auditioned choir of 45 students, Doane Choir tours annually to a region of the U.S. or Europe. This year's concert includes several concerts at local area churches.
Directed by Dr. Kurt Runestad, the choir regularly appears with area orchestras including a performance of Carl Orff's Carmina Burana with the Omaha Symphony in November 2006. In April 2007, the choir will also perform Creation at Plymouth Congregational Church in Lincoln.
Doane Choir's national tours have included concerts in New York City, San Diego, Denver and the National Cathedral in Washington, DC. It has completed five international tours featuring performances in Munich, Berlin, Prague and Vienna.
Dr. Runestad is the director of choral activities at Doane College where he conducts three of Doane's four choirs.
