Doane Choir to Perform at NMEA Conference

The Doane Choir will perform Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Nebraska Music Educators' Association Conference in Lincoln.

Music groups vie for the honor of NMEA selection each year. Performers are chosen by tape auditions.

Doane will perform at 8 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall in Lincoln.

The Doane Choir is an acclaimed choir of 50 voices, directed by Dr. Kurt Runestad. It tours annually to a region of the U.S. or Europe. During annual national tours, the choir has presented concerts in Albuquerque, Boston, Denver, Los Angeles, New York City, Phoenix, San Diego, Tucson, and at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Since 1989, the choir has also embarked on seven international tours, appearing in Berlin, Eisenstadt, Munich, Prague, and Salzburg.

The Doane Choir also regularly participates in choral-orchestral projects.
