Doane Band in D.C.

As May Interterm trips departed, 34 Doane concert ensemble students traveled to Washington, D.C. for a concert and cultural tour.

The 14-day tour includes concerts at the D.C. War Memorial, the Navy Memorial, and multiple stops on the way to D.C.

Students from all concert ensembles including Symphonic Wind Ensemble and Concert Band were able to sign up to participate in the trip. A total of 22 women and 12 men, along with four guests and directors Tom King and Jay Gilbert departed on Tuesday, May 21.

Cultural destinations on the trip include the Holocaust Museum, Gettysburg Battle Field and the National Mall. Students will also have an opportunity to enjoy a Washington Nationals baseball game and a tour of the Capitol.
