Doane and DWU Split Games

Doane handled Dakota Wesleyan in game one of the doubleheader on Saturday but could not hold off the blue Tigers in game two as the two teams split in GPAC play.

In game one, Joy Vasa picked up her third win of the week as she allowed two runs in five innings of work.  She scattered six hits while striking out one in the Tigers' 11-2 win.

At the plate, Whitney Poole collected three hits and stole two bases.  Stephanie Mosley went 2-for-2 and reached base each time.  She reached base nine consecutive plate appearances before having the streak snapped in game two.  Jennifer Montoya finished the game with three RBIs.

In game two, Doane built a 6-2 lead but a seven run rally by DWU gave them enough for a 9-7 victory.  Doane was plagued by 13 runners being left on base.  Winning pitcher Valerie Spencer limited Doane to six hits but walked 12 batters.  Amy Torgerson picked up the save, notching the final out of the game as Doane left the bases loaded.

Amy Hamik went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs for the Tigers.
