Doane Advances in GPAC Tournament

The Tiger volleyball team continued on in the GPAC Tournament with a 3-1 victory over Morningside College in the Quarterfinals. Doane advances to the Semifinal Round to take on Dordt College.

Morningside took the first game, 25-23, behind the arm of Liz Sutherland who led the Mustangs with five kills. Doane received four kills apiece from Susan Rollman and Emily Max.

In the second set, Doane came back to even the match at a game a piece with a 25-16 win. Rollman and Ashley Axmann teamed up for seven kills each.

Doane battled in game three to take the lead in the match with a 25-19 victory. Axmann posted eight kills in the set.

The Tigers cruised in game four, 25-12. Rollman and Axmann posted six kills each. Doane finished the match with 66 kills overall.

Axmann finished the match with 23 kills while Rollman posted 18 kills. Max added 10 kills while Terra Andreasen added seven and Lisa Lord posted six.

Heather Davison finished with 53 set assists. Lord added four assists.

Nicole Skolnick finished with 20 digs while Davison posted 15 digs. Andreasen added 14 digs while Desiree Erikson added 11 digs and Nikki Degenhardt added 10.

At the net defensively, Max finished with five total blocks. Rollman posted three blocks.

The Tigers and Dordt Defenders will face off on Thursday, November 11, at Fuhrer Field House with a 7:30 PM first serve.
