Defending Champs Shutout Tigers

The Doane women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 setback to Dakota Wesleyan University to open GPAC play. Dakota Wesleyan, the defending GPAC champions, improved to 6-0.

The battle of the Tigers was scoreless through the first 60 minutes of play. In the 61st minute, DWU broke the scoreless tie with a goal from Kasha Roberts. DWU opened the game up at that point, scoring two more goals over the next eight minutes.

Dakota Wesleyan out-shot the Tigers, 19-11 overall and 10-6 in shots on goal. Jordan Ludwig, in her first start of the season, allowed three goals and collected five saves in 70 minutes of play. Kelsey Stark allowed one goal in 20 minutes while picking up one save.

Danielle Richardson picked up the shutout in goal for DWU, stopping all six shots on goal that she faced.

The Tigers will host Midland Lutheran College on Tuesday, September 21, at 5:00 PM.
