Dana Rallies Twice to Sweep Tigers
Dana College used runs late in each game to come away with a sweep of Doane on Saturday afternoon in Crete. Dana took game one, 4-1, and game two, 4-3.
In game one, Bryan Dutcher was a tough luck loser as he was charged with four unearned runs in the seventh inning as Doane committed three errors in the final frame.
Doane was limited to four hits in the game, one coming off the bat of Thomas Frinkman for the only run of the game for the Tigers.
In game two, Dana rallied from a 2-0 deficit and held on for a one-run win. Doane had an opportunity to tie the game in the seventh inning but left the bases loaded as the last two batters of the game struck out. Adam Bies paced the offense with a 3-for-3 effort and two RBIs. Doane left 10 runners on base in the game.
For the day, Dana turned six double plays, including four in game two.
Doane will host Midland Lutheran College tomorrow, Sunday, at 1:00 PM. The game can be heard on the Tiger Sports Network.
