Dai'Re Earns First Team VSN Honors
D'Artagnan Dai'Re put together a very special season, seeing playing time at running back, defensive back, wide out and even a little quarterback (technically he threw two half-back passes). However, it was his performance as a kick return specialist that stood out amongst every thing else he did on the field. His return abilities have earned him First Team All-American honors from the Victory Sports Network.
Dai'Re, a West Covina, California native, averaged 28.8 yards per kick return which was tops in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). He also took two returns back for touchdowns, which were important to Doane adding three wins to their total from a year ago.
Dai'Re rushed for 104 yards on the season, 4.5 per carry, and one touchdown. He completed one pass for 47 yards and a touchdown while picking up one reception. Defensively, Dai'Re had nine total tackles, one pass break-up and a fumble recovery.
The Victory Sports Network (VSN) All-American team is chosen by VSN staff members and NAIA coaches. Dai'Re is the first Doane football player to earn First Team honors on the VSN All-American team.
