Congrats on Making State

Doane graduate and Weeping Water boys head coach BJ Blase has guided the Indians to their first Nebraska State Tournament appearnance in more than 45 years.  Blase graduated from Doane four years ago.

Weeping Water last qualified for the state tournament in 1961, when they were the Class C champions.  They defeated Fullerton in the finals, 61-53.

The Indians (17-8) will play Ponca on Thursday, March 8, at 1:30 p.m.  Ponca is the No. 1 seed in Class C2 and the game will be played at Lincoln North Star High School.  Weeping Water defeated Deshler High School in the district finals, 57-50.
