Anderson, Howard Receive NAIA Honor

Doane's Lindsay Anderson and Ashley Howard have been named to the NAIA Women's Basketball All-American team for the 2006-07 season.  Players are submitted to the national committee based on the All-Conference vote.  Anderson and Howard were both named First Team All-GPAC players.

Anderson, a sophomore from Holdrege, was named to the Second Team.  The last Tiger to be placed on one of the three teams was Erin Schlake in 1999-2000 when she also earned Second Team honors.  Anderson led the team with 16.6 points per game.  She also averaged 4.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game.  Anderson made 49 three-point baskets while shooting 37 percent from behind the arc.  Lindsay is the daughter of Allen & Gale Anderson.

Howard, a senior from Falls City, was named honorable mention.  Howard was second on the team with 13.9 points and 5.2 rebounds.  During the 2006-07 season, she reached the 1,000 point club and finished her career with 1,231 points.  Howard shot 47 percent from the floor and 70 percent from the free throw line.  She led the team in free throw makes and attempts.  Ashley is the daughter of Carla & Mike Bird and Bob & Sherri Howard.
