Accounting

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

Doane’s Accounting degree provides a solid foundation in accounting and financial practices. The program is designed to fulfill state educational requirements to take the CPA exam.

Agribusiness

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

The Agribusiness program prepares an individual to manage agricultural businesses and agriculturally-related operations. A degree in agribusiness includes a unique blend of both agricultural sciences curriculum as well as coursework with a strong foundation in economics and business management. This combination gives our graduates the experience they need to lead in the agricultural industry.

Business Administration

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

The Business Administration major develops leaders by focusing on ethics, communication, problem solving, decision-making, leadership, risk-taking and change. Doane University continually monitors business and industry locally and nationally to stay on the cutting edge of educational demands.

Criminal Justice

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The criminal justice program allows you to familiarize yourself with current trends, research techniques and technological advances in criminal justice as well as teaches you to how to evaluate societal needs and issues that impact the criminal justice practice. Through the program, you’ll understand the nature of delinquency and crime, criminal law and criminal procedure as well as learn management and administrative skills to manage organizations in the criminal justice area.

Graphic Arts and Print Design

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The graphic arts and print design program teaches you to gain a working knowledge of communication concepts, processes and visualization techniques as well as helps you appreciate the role of graphic design history and criticism as a framework for practice. Through the graphic design program, you’ll master current materials, tools and technologies for graphic design as well as understand the underlying principles and practices in image design, typography, symbol systems, multimedia, web design and information and promotional design.

Health Sciences

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Health Sciences workers promote health, prevent disease, and help patients cope with illness and are advocates and health educators for patients, families and communities. When providing direct patient care, they observe, assess, and record symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medications; and assist in convalescence and rehabilitation. The program is a multidisciplinary major grounded in the liberal arts. It offers a Bachelor of Science degree completion program for people who hold an associate in a health-related field and wish to complete a baccalaureate degree for career and professional development.

Human Relations

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Human Relations major is a combination of psychology, human relations, communication and research studies. The program focuses on human development, personality theory, interpersonal and group communication, multiculturalism, professional ethics and development of counseling skills. Doane’s human relations major is designed specifically for persons seeking careers in human service professions like social work, community support, mental health, life skills and nonprofit management.

Information Systems & Technology

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Information Systems & Technology major provides individuals with the right set of skills to keep up with the continually changing landscape of the digital world. Through this major, you will experience a blend of courses that will enable you to deploy technology and manage information in ways that assure security, reliability and efficiency. This major gives you the opportunity to specialize in the field of information systems and technology that most interests you.

Liberal Arts Studies

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

This degree program is specifically designed for nontraditional students seeking a bachelor’s degree for career advancement and personal growth. It allows students who have completed an associate’s degree to earn their bachelor’s degree in a timely manner. The program of study provides a curriculum focusing on the development of critical and analytical skills, oral and written communication skills, and a strong liberal arts component to balance the technical knowledge acquired through the associate’s degree.

Organizational Communication

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Organizational Communication major focuses on the impact of effective communication in business and not-for-profit organizations. This major integrates coursework in the fields of communication, business, psychology, sociology, writing, and research. You will learn how to interact with and motivate people, sell ideas and products, promote organizations and events, build productive teams, and train and develop people.

Public Administration

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Public Administration major provides individuals for careers in public service and further development in professional and paraprofessional careers. As an interdisciplinary major, you’ll integrate course work from business, economics, sociology, political science, human relations and communication. In addition, if you wish to complete a professional degree for a career in public service, the Public Administration major is recommended if you intend to pursue a graduate degree in law.

RN to BSN

UNDERGRADUATE - SCHOOL OF INTEGRATIVE LEARNING

The RN to BSN program allows licensed registered nurses to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Doane recognizes that your academic, clinical and professional experiences in the healthcare profession provide a firm foundation to build upon and enhance with a degree program in the liberal arts tradition. Completion of the degree requirements involves courses in nursing and the liberal arts that continue the development of skills for critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and team building. Students will also develop a knowledge base for leadership in the profession.

Master of Arts in Counseling

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Doane’s Master of Arts in Counseling program follows a competency-based, practitioner model, which places primary emphasis on students who are seeking state licensure in mental health counseling.

A Master of Arts in Management degree can help you manage and lead in any industry. It can open doors to graduate-level positions and can also help with life outside the office. Doane University’s premier program places organizational leadership in a liberal arts context.
