With undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees, an initial certification at the advanced level and an Education Specialist - Advanced Degree available across three campuses, you can earn the degree you want with a learning experience that’s innovative and all about you.

Agribusiness

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Agribusiness program prepares an individual to manage agricultural businesses and agriculturally-related operations. A degree in agribusiness includes a unique blend of both agricultural sciences curriculum as well as coursework with a strong foundation in economics and business management. This combination gives our graduates the experience they need to lead in the agricultural industry.

RN to BSN

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The RN to BSN program allows licensed registered nurses to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Doane recognizes that your academic, clinical and professional experiences in the healthcare profession provide a firm foundation to build upon and enhance with a degree program in the liberal arts tradition. Completion of the degree requirements involves courses in nursing and the liberal arts that continue the development of skills for critical thinking, problem solving, conflict resolution and team building. Students will also develop a knowledge base for leadership in the profession.

Human Relations

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Human Relations major is a combination of psychology, human relations, communication and research studies. The program focuses on human development, personality theory, interpersonal and group communication, multiculturalism, professional ethics and development of counseling skills. Doane’s human relations major is designed specifically for persons seeking careers in human service professions like social work, community support, mental health, life skills and nonprofit management.

Liberal Arts Studies

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

This degree program is specifically designed for nontraditional students seeking a bachelor’s degree for career advancement and personal growth. It allows students who have completed an associate’s degree to earn their bachelor’s degree in a timely manner. The program of study provides a curriculum focusing on the development of critical and analytical skills, oral and written communication skills, and a strong liberal arts component to balance the technical knowledge acquired through the associate’s degree.

Organizational Communication

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Organizational Communication major focuses on the impact of effective communication in business and not-for-profit organizations. This major integrates coursework in the fields of communication, business, psychology, sociology, writing, and research. You will learn how to interact with and motivate people, sell ideas and products, promote organizations and events, build productive teams, and train and develop people.

Professional Studies in Accounting

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Doane’s Professional Studies in Accounting degree provides a solid foundation in accounting and financial practices. The program is designed to fulfill state educational requirements to take the CPA exam.

Professional Studies in Business Administration

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Professional Studies in Business Administration major develops leaders by focusing on ethics, communication, problem solving, decision-making, leadership, risk-taking and change. Doane University continually monitors business and industry locally and nationally to stay on the cutting edge of educational demands.

Public Administration

UNDERGRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

The Public Administration major provides individuals for careers in public service and further development in professional and paraprofessional careers. As an interdisciplinary major, you’ll integrate course work from business, economics, sociology, political science, human relations and communication. In addition, if you wish to complete a professional degree for a career in public service, the Public Administration major is recommended if you intend to pursue a graduate degree in law.

Master of Arts in Counseling

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Doane’s Master of Arts in Counseling program follows a competency-based, practitioner model, which places primary emphasis on students who are seeking state licensure in mental health counseling. This "basic competencies" model is similar to the model developed by the National Council of Schools and Programs in Professional Psychology.

Master of Education in School Counseling

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

As a student in the school counseling program, you will become skilled in the delivery of services within schools, be knowledgeable about current trends in school counseling programs and will be able to demonstrate the ability to establish and implement interventions that meet children’s and adolescent’s needs. In addition, as a student of the program, you’ll be able to demonstrate the ability to collaborate with other school personnel, families, and community services and be able to conduct assessments of cognitive, behavioral, and academic needs of children and youth.

Master of Business Administration

Formed from a traditional MBA, Doane's Master of Business Administration program focuses on the technical elements of business management, both from an operational and strategical standpoint, and equips students with the rational decision-making skills that are the bedrock for most MBA programs. However, Doane's MBA goes a step further with its carefully selected emphasis areas, which give graduates a solid advantage in an increasingly competitive job market.

A Master of Arts in Management degree can help you manage and lead in any industry. It can open doors to graduate-level positions and can also help with life outside the office. Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction

Doane launched its Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction program more than 20 years ago, based on input from teachers and school districts. We continuously advance the program, and include the same crucial input. Students choose Doane’s program for coursework that is relevant and applicable; for faculty who believe educational professionals are lifelong learners; for a curriculum that incorporates experience and knowledge, best practice, current research, application and evaluation.

English as a Second Language Teaching Endorsement

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

The English as a Second Language endorsement is designed to prepare teachers to communicate effectively cross-culturally in an educational environment, exhibit a deep understanding of linguistics for ESL, demonstrate methods for teaching, and assessing ESL students as well as developing curriculum.

Early Childhood Teaching Endorsement

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

The Early Childhood Endorsement is a supplementary endorsement that prepares teachers to work with children birth to grade three.

Special Education Teaching Endorsement

GRADUATE - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

The Mild/Moderate Special Education endorsement is designed to prepare teachers to educate learners with mild to moderate learning disabilities, mental handicaps, behavioral or emotional disabilities, or orthopedic handicaps. Candidates can be endorse K-6 or 7-12.

Reading Specialist Teaching Endorsement

The Reading Specialist endorsement is designed to prepare teachers to education learners in literacy. This endorsement is a K-12 endorsement.

ADVANCED DEGREE - COLLEGE OF EDUCATION

Through the Doane Ed.S program, you will develop and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions of leadership that will take your current leadership to new levels that ensure success as the leader of a school district. You will also develop practices and programs that are inclusive, values driven, and ethical in content and practice and develop the capacity to lead the educational system with a focus on the core work of teaching and learning and a focus on the center of the system in the classroom.
