Legendary Coaches Campaign

They had just one day.  Yet the impact would last forever.

Three coaches pored over details all day and night to answer what was needed in a new facility for Doane's students.  In 1969, Fuhrer Field House was born.  More than 30 years later, Bob Erickson '57, Fred Beile and Al Papik '50 are campus legends.  Their stories - their impact on students - live on in many alumni.

The Legendary Coaches Campaign seeks to honor and preserve the memory of these outstanding coaches, while continuing their tradition of service to students. Your donations will help expand Fuhrer Field House, resurface Simon Field, and complete the George and Sally Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center-the very places in which these three men shaped their programs and their students.

Legendary Coaches Campaign Shared Stories

Any athlete who ever suited up for any of our three legendary coaches knows that there is so much more to their legacies than what wound up in a win and loss column.  We want to be able to share the impact these men made not only on the field, but on the lives of their students.
