Doane uses the Blackboard platform to develop and deliver online courses. The Blackboard Learning Management System (LMS) provides you with the opportunity to develop course content using native features and tools.
To support and empower faculty that use Blackboard, we offer a variety of training opportunities. Please review the descriptions below to gain a better understanding of the skills each type of training covers.

Blackboard 1.0 Basic
In this training session for faculty and staff, participants will learn how to use Blackboard's essential components. During this workshop, participants will see and have the opportunity to practice; accessing and navigating Blackboard, reviewing the Course Menu, uploading documents, and creating announcements.
Blackboard 2.0 Intermediate
This training explores intermediate level features of Blackboard, such as adding and organizing content, uploading multimedia, and creating assignments. Participants must have had Bb 1.0 or equivalent training.
Blackboard 3.0 Advanced Series
This series of advanced level training will explore such topics as Gradebook, Discussions, and Groups. Each Bb 3.0 Advanced Training takes a deep dive into one topic area. Participants must have completed Bb 1.0 and 2.0 or equivalent training.
Blackboard 3.0 Advanced - Course Copy
This 20-minute course walks participants through an actual course copy giving hands-on experience. This course is not offered alone and combines with another training. Participants must have completed Bb 2.0 or equivalent training.
Blackboard 3.0 Advanced - Course Refresh
This course walks participants through an actual course refresh (and course check). After the completion of this course faculty will know how to complete a course check and update for the upcoming term/ semester. Participants must have completed Bb 2.0 or equivalent training.
