Doane University hosts a Winter Commencement for students in the following programs:

CAPS and GOWNS
Undergraduate students in the College of Professional Studies, Master of Arts in Counseling, Master of Arts in Management and Master of Business Adminstration graduates: pay a $50 graduation fee to Doane. This fee is due regardless of your participation in ceremonies, and will be applied to your account by the Business Office. It covers the cost of your regalia and diploma. Students that participate in the College's assessment activities can have this fee waived. An email will be sent to your Doane email account in November with directions and a link to participate in assessment activities. Gowns can be picked up at the graduates home campus location - Lincoln, Grand Island, or Omaha. Online students will be contacted.
Graduate Studies in Education graduates: order cap, gown, and hood online from jostens.com. The website is only available during specific periods prior to graduation. Information on how to navigate the site will be sent close to graduation time. Jostens ships gowns directly to your home address. The cost is approximately $40-$70 depending on degree awarded.
GRADUATION DIPLOMA & ACCOUNT CLEAN-UP
Account balances must be paid-in-full the Thursday prior to graduation for graduates to receive their diploma at the ceremony. Accounts that are not PAID in FULL will receive an empty portfolio during Commencement. Diplomas are sent when accounts are paid and requirements are completed.

Students that have completed graduation requirements for the current year in one of the following months:
- August (and was not invited to participate in the May graduation ceremony)
You may bring as many guests as you wish. The Haddix Recreational and Athletic center seats 1200. Please advise your guests to arrive 30 minutes prior to the ceremony or earlier. Early arrival assures a better chance for a good parking place and the best seat for the ceremony. Haddix Recreational and Athletic Center is handicap accessible, and special seating will be offered for those in wheelchairs.
Graduates should arrive on the Crete campus no later than 12:15 p.m. the day of commencement. You will be line up for commencement in the weight room on the South side of the Haddix Recreational and Athletic center. Graduation begins promptly at 1:00 p.m. and will last an hour. Graduates should leave winter coats and/or purses with family members in attendance, as there isn't secure storage available.

There are over 900 parking spots on campus. Parking is available throughout, but is most conveniently located within:
- Parking lot I - in front of Haddix Recreation and Athletic Center (building #14)
- Parking lot J - in the adjacent lot south of Haddix (the Den)
- Parking lot G - in front of Fuhrer Field House (building #5)
Planning an event in December, in Nebraska, is difficult knowing there is the potential of snow. If the weather is severe, and roads are impassable, a decision about postponing the ceremony will be made by 7am Sunday morning and will be posted on Doane's home page.
