Volunteer Spotlight - Sharon Krauter Seagren '58
“The friends I made during my college years continue to be important to me. As a student, I was active in several campus organizations, serving as the president of Phi Sigma Tau sorority. In 1958, the Phi Sigma Tau alumni group was organized and still exists today. Our small group continues to meet twice a year to maintain our friendships and share what is happening in our lives. The relationships we develop and keep after graduation are key.
In 2009, I took my volunteerism with Doane to the next level. For the past six years I have had the privilege to serve as a representative on the Doane Alumni Council. Through this experience, I have met other Doane graduates, students, campus administrators and staff when they present to our group. Volunteering at various college events in Crete, Lincoln, Omaha and Grand Island makes me appreciate and develop a better understanding of Doane today. President Jacque Carter and his administration are providing excellent leadership to make the Doane experience educationally sound and worthwhile.”
The volunteer support of countless alumni and friends—dedicated individuals like Sharon—helps Doane continue to thrive. If you are interested in volunteering with the Alumni Council, please visit doane.edu/alumni-council or contact the Alumni Office at firstname.lastname@example.org or 402.826.6795.
