"R.U.R" kicks off our legacy show in the spring. By
the Czech writer Karel Capek, this play introduced the word robot (from
the Czech robota, meaning forced labor) to the world in 1920 and
examines what it is to be human and robot, and what it means to love. This
show started an important concept in modern storytelling and sci-fi,
the idea of the robot. We think you'll really enjoy seeing its origins,
and all the quirky characters and fancy costumes along the way.
