Please read below for important details regarding your F-1 status and other important information that needs your attention.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is currently allowing students on a non-immigrant visa (F-1 and J-1) to be fully enrolled in classes with no face-to-face instruction if the school you are attending has made that decision. Doane will be sending a report to DHS notifying them that Doane University has decided to move to remote instruction which will begin after March 23 through the remainder of this semester. No action is required from you.
Please follow the instructions from Residence Life to notify us of your living arrangements. This will help us know who will remain on campus.
Students who are able to check out of their residence halls are strongly encouraged to do so by Sunday March 22, 2020.
If you plan to check out of your residence hall for the remainder of the semester, we ask that you please complete this form by Wednesday March 18, 2020.
While we highly encourage you to check-out early and return home, Doane also understands this may not be feasible for some students for a multitude of reasons. Because of this, the residence halls will remain open for those without alternative arrangements starting Sunday March 15, 2020. However, should you opt to remain in the residence halls, the option to checkout throughout the remainder of the semester will be available if you find that fits your needs more appropriately.
If you plan to remain on campus, we ask that you please complete this form as soon as possible, preferably no later than Wednesday March 18, 2020 so we can make appropriate plans for those remaining on campus.
Dining services will be available to students beginning on Sunday evening March 15, 2020 from 5:30-6:30pm. The Cafe and other dining areas will not be open, but students will have access to pre packed meals. Students can pick up meals from the dining hall in Perry Campus Center during the following times:
- Breakfast: 7:30-8:30am
- Lunch: 11:30am-1:00pm
- Dinner: 5:30-6:30pm
You are discouraged from travelling outside of the U.S. at this time. If you do decide to travel, please let the Office of International Programs know.
- Please contact the Office of International Programs any time with questions. The recommended form of communication at this time is email (firstname.lastname@example.org).
- The Office of International Programs and all other offices on-campus will remain open as long as there are enough staff members to do so.
- Keep checking this link for updates (at least daily). It is the best source of current information about the Doane University response to COVID-19.
