Important message to Faculty/Staff regarding technology

Dear Faculty and Staff,

Doane continues to look at all courses of action regarding our response to COVID-19. As we coordinate with local partners and experts in this area, the best practices revolve around ensuring we are prepared for any scenario. We have identified several proactive steps we would like you to take now to reduce troubleshooting requirements in the future if they occur.

Please do the following:

  1. Set up your remote meeting account using Zoom. The meeting client is found at the bottom of the page. https://doane.zoom.us Reminder, Doane Zoom accounts are for Faculty and Staff, students can be invited to any meeting/classroom using their Doane Email. Students will still need to download the meeting client to join the session.
  2. (If required) Set up convenient access to your timesheet through Kronos. This can be done here: https://doane.edu/kronos or download the mobile app on your phone by searching Kronos Workforce Ready. The company short code, needed for setup, is 6106390.
  3. Set up off campus access resources through our virtual private network (VPN) such as Netfiles, Colleague, etc. Click this link for details https://connect.doane.edu. The portal address once installed is connect.doane.edu.
  4. Ensure that your voicemail is set up to go to your email.

For employees who do not have access to a computer and internet at home, please visit with your supervisor to discuss options in the event staff are asked to work remotely. We ask all employees to please be thinking ahead about the potential of working remotely and what that would look like for each individual and department. In the event that employees are asked to work remotely, additional information will be shared.

We ask for your patience during this time as we mitigate our processes to come up with solutions in this uncharted territory.
