Duke University 3-2 Program
Doane University participates in the Cooperative College Program coordinated by the Nicholas School of the Environment at Duke University in Durham, N.C. This program includes a 3-2 arrangement with Duke. Students complete three years of coursework at Doane and apply for admission into the Nicholas School. During their two years at Duke students complete the remaining Doane requirements for a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Studies. They also complete the requirements at Duke for the Master of Environmental Management degree.
Prerequisites for entering Duke include, among others, one college level course in calculus and one college level course in statistics. Review the Statement of Prerequisite Coursework that includes grade requirements for prerequisite courses, specific prerequisites for each of the MEM programs, and the calculus and statistics diagnostic exams. Students must come prepared to begin the Doane calculus course without the need to complete prerequisites. The minimum required GRE scores are 156 (verbal) and 148 (quantitative). There is no minimum on the writing section but scores of 4 or better are desired. A minimum TOEFL score of 100 is required of those whose native language is not English. Applications for admission to the Nicholas School of the Environment are accepted for fall enrollment only.
