DFA members at the 2004 reunion.There are currently three published books relating to the genealogy of the Doane/Doan family available for purchase.  The books contain the lineage of all known people who descend from Deacon John Doane who emigrated to Plymouth Colony about 1630.  Doane University founder Thomas Doane descended from this early New England family.   

The Doane Family volumes are comprehensive and contain approximately 500 pages each.  A third volume to this series is currently in progress.   Doane Families of South-Western Ontario  contains 200 pages.  Volumes I and II of The Doane Family list Doanes/Doans of the United States.  A third book, Doane Families of South-Western Ontario  discusses the five Doane families who migrated into Canada.  Other publications include the supplements to all three books, and copies of The Doane Family Proceedings from 1946 until the present.  The Proceedings are detailed accounts of the biennial Doane family reunions and include minutes of the business meetings, historical papers and photos.
