Workstudy open positions

What Is Student Employment?

There are two types of student employment opportunities Doane College provides for their students.

Federal Work-Study:

Federal Work-study (FWS) is a type of federal financial aid. The federal government provides funding to the college to provide part time jobs for students demonstrating financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay for educational expenses. Eligibility is based on the results of the FAFSA and the student must be meeting Doane College's Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress policy to be considered for FWS employment. The financial aid office makes the determination of the student's eligibility. Students can work either on or off campus for eligible agencies under the FWS program.

Campus Employment:

The other type of student employment is Campus Employment. Doane College pays 100 percent of the student's wages. Students do not have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for campus employment. However, only on-campus jobs are available to students working under this type of student employment.

Under both programs, students are paid minimum wage which is currently $7.25 per hour. Students wanting to work on campus must apply and be hired for a position with the listed supervisor below. Before seeking a student employment position, a student must obtain and complete the appropriate paperwork required from the payroll office. Once the paperwork is complete students can search for available positions.
