There are two types of student employment: Federal Workstudy (FWS) and Campus Employment.
Federal Workstudy (FWS)
The federal government provides funding to the college to provide part-time jobs for students demonstrating financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay for educational expenses.
Eligibility is based on the results of the FAFSA and the student must meet Doane College's Federal Satisfactory Academic Progress policy to be considered for FWS employment.
The Financial Aid Office makes the determination of the student's eligibility. Students can work either on- or off- campus for eligible agencies under the FWS program.
Doane pays 100% of the student's wages. Students do not have to demonstrate financial need to be eligible for campus employment. However, only on-campus jobs are available to students working under this type of student employment.
Student employment/workstudy is not available for students enrolled on the Lincoln or Grand Island campuses.
