The Doane College triMATHlon is a math contest in three stages:
- Written Exam
- Extreme Team Challenge
- Team Math Bowl
It is designed for students in grades 9 through 12. The contest includes material typically taught prior to trigonometry and calculus in Nebraska public high schools (up to and including second-year algebra).
The competition is usually held on the last Thursday of September. The Written Exam and the Team Math Bowl are taken in the Lied Science and Mathematics Building and the Extreme Team Challenge is a problem-solving event outdoors.
The math contest consists of three stages. During the Extreme Team Challenge, an outdoor event, teams produce written solutions to problems involving Doane's campus. The Individual Written Test is a 45-question, multiple-choice exam. The Math Bowl pairs three-person teams in a quick-answer quiz bowl tournament.
Online pre-registration (via link below) will run from Monday, September 2nd until Monday, September 16th. In the case that more teams register than our facilities can handle, participating teams will be selected via lottery on Tuesday, September 17th.
Students and Sponsors MUST register SEPARATELY.
