This 14-day May travel trip, on a comfortable motor coach, will provide students and adults with a better understanding of the American Civil War 1861-1865 by touring the most famous Civil War battlefields and museums in the United States. As we tour the battle sites we will read, discuss, hear lectures, and view video documentaries about the famous war leaders and the battles that defined the North and the South during the country’s most important historic event.
We will travel to the following cities:
Springfield, MO, Memphis, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Richmond, VA, Gettysburg, PA, Cincinnati, OH, Springfield, IL, and Galena, IL.
We will visit the following Civil War historic sites:
Mine Creek, KS, Wilson Creek, MO., Pea Ridge AR, Corinth, MS, Shiloh, TN, Murfreesboro, TN, Chattanooga, TN, Appomattox, VA, Richmond, Manassas, VA/Bull Run, Harpers Ferry, MD, Antietam, MD, Gettysburg, PA. Springfield, Ill. (Lincoln Home), and Galena, Ill. (Grant Home).
