Theory of Music I
A study of the elements of music, including melody, harmony, and rhythm, and of four-part writing, including aural perception of materials written. Upon successful completion, students will be able to analyze, notate, and identify, both visually and aurally, triads in root position and inversions, cadences, harmonic progressions, figured bass realization, and non-harmonic tones. Prerequisite: Fine Arts 104. Offered spring term.
