This course continues the transition from studentyof German to teacher of German. Topics focus onythe teaching of German in the high school.yStudents will engage in pedagogical practicesyintended to create environments that encourageyactive engagement in learning foreign languages.yStudents will select and utilize authentic foreignylanguage instruction materials, including theyliterature of the target language appropriate foryall levels of learners. Students will plan,yimplement, teach, and assess foreign languageycurriculum in the target language to demonstrateyan understanding of the relationships amongycentral concepts of learning and teaching foreignylanguages, including the ability to communicateyhigh expectations and create meaningful learningyexperiences for all students. Generally takenyduring the junior year. Prerequisite: German 323yor permission. Offered spring term.
