The Teaching of German I

This course begins the transition from student ofyGerman to teacher of German. Students will engageyin pedagogical practices intended to createyenvironments that encourage active engagement inylearning foreign languages. Students will selectyand utilize authentic foreign language instructionymaterials including the literature of the targetylanguage appropriate for all levels of learners.yStudents will plan, implement, teach, and assessyforeign language curriculum in the target languageyto demonstrate an understanding of theyrelationships among central concepts of learningyand teaching foreign languages, including theyability to communicate high expectations andycreate meaningful learning experiences for allystudents.
