The Teaching of French II

This course continues the transition from studentyof French to teacher of French. Topics focus onythe teaching of French in the middle school.ySutdents will engage in pedagogical practicesyintended to create environments that encourageyactive engagement in learning foreign languages.yStudents will select and utilize authentic foreignylanguage instruction materials, including theyliterature of the target language appropriate foryall levels of learners. Students will plan,yimplement, teach, and assess foreign languageycurriculum in the target language to demonstrateyan understanding of the relationships amongycentral concepts of learning and teaching foreignylanguages, including the ability to communicateyhigh expectations and create meaningful learningyexperiences for all students. Generally takenyduring the junior year. Prerequisite: French 319yor permission. Offered fall term.
