The Teaching of English II
Begins the transition from student of English toyteacher of English. The major emphasis is onyinnovative teaching methods for facilitatingylearning in English in the secondary schools andythe methods and procedures for evaluating studentylearning. Students will be able to demonstrateyprocesses and methods of reading instruction,yidentify reading abilities, select appropriateyadolescent and young adult literature, and applyythe techniques of grammar descriptions to theyEnglish language for students in the secondaryyschool classroom. Students will also explore theyNebraska K-12 content standards for reading.yGenerally taken during the junior year.yPrerequisite: English 323 or permission. Offeredyfall term.
