Qualifications: Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner. Proficiency in MS office. Looking for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple tasks at the same time. 3-5 years related experience preferred.

Associate Vice President for Advancement

Doane College is seeking highly motivated candidates for the position of Associate Vice President for Advancement. This person will work in partnership with the Vice President for Advancement to lead and supervise the planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of the College's development strategy for major gifts, annual solicitations, research on prospective donors, planned giving, alumni relations and advancement operations. This position will motivate staff and volunteers, as well as cultivate and solicit alumni, parents, friends and corporations in support of Doane College. The Director will have supervisory responsibility for approximately nine staff members. Travel is required.
Duties include, but are not limited to,
- Supervise the development operations, including major gifts, gift cultivation society, annual fund, research, planned giving, alumni relations, advancement systems, and stewardship.
- Provide and manage the implementation of strategies for increasing financial support to Doane College from individual donors.
- Launch and manage the gift cultivation society as the focal point for all Doane fundraising activities.
- Serve as a major gifts officer cultivating, soliciting, and managing key donor relationships.
- Advise and help manage visits by the President, Vice President, and/or key volunteers.
- Establish appropriate measurements for evaluating the College's fundraising results.
- Assume other appropriate duties as assigned by the President and/or Vice President for Advancement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of five years of successful experience in major gift raising, annual funds and campaigns; ideally in a private liberal arts and sciences college setting.
- Excellent leadership, interpersonal, organizational, planning, communication and problem solving skills.
- Knowledge of advancement services and data reporting.
- Ability to work on several projects concurrently while meeting deadlines.
- Willingness to work creatively to ensure desired results.
