Senator Hugh Butler Academic Leadership Scholarship
The Butler Scholarship is Doane's highest academic merit scholarship, awarding full tuition to first-year students.
Academic scholarships are not based on financial need. Students who quality based on high-school academics, performance and ACT/SAT test scores will receive the scholarship regardless of their resources.
Admitted students are automatically eligible with a minimum 30 ACT/1320 SAT and 3.6 GPA.
To be considered, students should:
- Apply for Admission
- Have a minimum 3.60 unweighted high school GPA
- Score 30 or higher on the ACT (1320 or higher on the SAT's Critical Reading and Math sections)
Renewable for up to eight semesters if the student maintains a 3.5 GPA and full-time enrollment status.

Finalists will be notified by the Office of Admission and will be invited to campus for interview with the selection committee. In-person interviews must be completed at the convenience of the applicant prior to February 15, 2013.
Students who qualify for the Butler Scholarship will be automatically awarded the Presidential Scholarship. Butler alternates will receive a $1,000 recognition award in addition to the Presidential Scholarship if they are not selected to receive the Butler award.
