Scenic Design

This course will examine the principles, stylisticyconsiderations and process of designing sceneryyfor the stage. Work includes hand drafting, modelybuilding, portfolio preparation and image editingyvia computer graphics programs. Upon completionyof the course, the student will be able toyunderstand the principles of two-dimensional andythree-dimensional design aesthetics as applied toythe theatre art of scenic design, demonstrateysensitivity to, knowledge of, and aptitude for theyart, craft, and process of moving the script ontoythe stage, and demonstrate the ability to apply ayconceptual approach to production.
