Welcome to Doane College!

Academic Advising is such a positive and nurturing partnership between students and their faculty advisor and peers. Rhonda Lake is the academic advisor for all first-year students. In addition, new students will be assigned a faculty advisor who also doubles as their LAR professor in the first-year seminar course. Incoming students will have a peer assistant to help them plan their road to success and answer any questions. At Doane College, faculty, peers and staff are committed to the total well being and academic success of all students.

Since many of the classes first-year students will choose point toward majors and decided future career plans, it is important for new students to seek assistance and stay in touch with faculty advisors. Students will meet with their advisor a few times each semester. First-year students who are still "deciding students" will have plenty of resources available for them to explore their options. For example, the First-Year office will hold a Major's Fair event called, PATHWAYS on October 21, 2014 during the lunch hour. Students will have the opportunity to speak directly with professors from all departments about majors, minors, career choices, internships and travel abroad programs - all available through Doane College.

Rhonda Lake and the first-year academic advising office is conveniently located in the Perry Campus Center next to the Tiger Inn. Students can drop in anytime during the day, or schedule an appointment through email.

Thanks again for choosing Doane College!
