This course provides a review of nursing theoriesyupon which practice is built and prepares the RNyto become a consumer of research as it applies toythe practice of nursing. Students develop anyunderstanding of both qualitative and quantitativeyresearch and how to determine appropriateymethodology for a chosen study. Students developyskills for evaluating and critiquing existingyresearch and learn how to apply ethicalyconsiderations to the practice of research. Uponycompletion of the course, students will understandythe role of research in continuously improvingyhealth care. Prerequisite: NRS-215
