An introduction to modern quantitative methodsyused in decision-making in business. Topicsyinclude linear models, network and schedulingymodels, inventory models, decision theory,ytransportation method, and other methods. Studentsysuccessfully completing this course will be ableyto 1) identify and comprehend management scienceyissues and problems, 2) apply the theoreticalyconstructs of operations research to simulatedybusiness situations, 3) construct appropriateymodels using computer software, and 4) developyprofessional reports using the informationygenerated using the developed models.yPrerequisite: Math certification and cognates, orypermission. (MTH-115 or 235 recommended.)
