Parking Ticket Appeal Form

Doane provides parking for students, faculty, staff and guests. Parking management supports our campus safety and security needs. While we do have ample parking for our community (to include off campus parking on city streets) most complaints about parking revolve around “convenience” and the desire to park as close to your destination as possible. This is not possible for everyone. We appreciate your willingness to drive and park appropriately while on-campus.

Please fill out the information below if you wish to appeal a ticket. Please note. Appeals will NOT be considered if based on the following:

  • “I was running late to class/meal/meeting”
  • “There was no other place to park”
  • “There were lots of empty spaces there”
  • “I was told by a professor/coach/non-Public Safety Office staff member that I could”
  • “I didn’t know I had to register my vehicle”
  • “I don’t want to put a sticker on my vehicle”
  • “I didn’t see the signs”

(All information below must be supplied to consider appeal)

(Note: a picture is taken of all vehicles when ticketed. Students are required to update their parking information with PSO)
(e.g., Health and Wellness sticker. All special permits must be visibly displayed. Failure to do so will result in an appeal denial.)
(e.g., If PSO has already received your request to register your vehicle, but you have not received your permit yet. Students must place their permit on their vehicle immediately following receipt. Permits placed in your student mailbox are considered to be in your possession)
